About Us
The Association of Faith Churches and Ministers (AFCM) was founded in 1978 by Jim and Kathleen Kaseman. Its purpose is to promote fellowship among ministers to share their experience, strength, and knowledge around the Word of God.
Striving for unity and edification of the brethren with God's Word as the foundation of our relationships, we envisioned that more could be accomplished for the kingdom of God when we came together under the banner of AFCM. AFCM provides the following levels of credentials for ministers: license and ordination For churches in the US whose pastors are members of AFCM, the following programs are available: affiliation for churches that need their tax exempt status and association for churches that already have their tax exempt status. Over the years, AFCM has developed into a world-wide movement of churches, pastors, traveling ministers, and missionaries dedicated to bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations in the power of the Holy Spirit. From the United States to the far reaches of the world, AFCM and its members have made an impact through preaching the gospel in communist countries; translating, printing, and distributing millions of books; mobilizing the church for short-term missions; establishing hundreds of video Bible schools; planting churches and providing training for leaders; organizing youth camps and youth outreaches; and responding with humanitarian aid to those in need. Serving local pastors, ministers, and missionaries all over the world, AFCM is dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations.” The following list of core values reflects what is truly important to us as an organization. These are not values that change from time to time, but rather they are the foundation of this ministry. By maintaining these core values, we can preserve what has always been unique about AFCM.
I. Biblical Authority We value the word of God, which is Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who is our teacher and reveals God to us as we meditate on God’s word, understand it, and do it, and succeed in life. (Joshua 1:8; John 1:14:26; John 15:13). II. Our Covenant with God A partial list of this provision includes: 1. All Spiritual Blessings in heaving places. This would include revelation concerning God and His favor and presence in our lives (Eph. 1:3). 2. Health/Healing - Healing is provided for in the redemption of Christ, and it is the privilege of every believer today. (Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:17; Isaiah 53:4-5) 3. Material Blessings – According to the Matthew 6:24-34, God knows we need physical things in this physical world and has already made abundant provision. We simply need to seek Him and His righteousness first. IV. Faith V. Covenant Relationships – People/Membership VI. Integrity in Ministry VII. Stewardship In creation, God expected Adam and Eve to consecrate all things in the earth to Him and to manage it in a God-glorifying way, fulfilling His divine purpose (Gen. 1:28). The parable of the talents warns us that our place and service in heaven will depend on the faithfulness of our lives and services here. A talent represents our abilities, time, resources, and opportunities to serve God while on earth. These things are considered by God as a trust that we are responsible to administer in the wisest possible way (Matt. 25:14-30). VIII. Excellence in Ministry Without love there can never be excellence in the Lord (I Cor. 12:31 through I Cor. 13:1-13). Daniel had an excellent spirit (Daniel 5:12). “And this I pray: that your love may abound yet more and more and extend to its fullest development in knowledge and all keen insight [that your love may display itself in greater depth of acquaintance and more comprehensive discernment], So that you may surely learn to sense what is vital, and approve and prize what is excellent and of real value [recognizing the highest and the best, and distinguishing the moral differences], and that you may be untainted and pure and unerring and blameless [so that with hearts sincere and certain and unsullied, you may approach] the day of Christ [not stumbling nor causing others to stumble].” IX. Intentional, Relevant Global Evangelism & Discipleship AFCM provides licensing and ordination for pastors and ministers allowing them the opportunity to be a part of a larger vision, thus having a greater impact. Members are encouraged to forge relationships across national, geographical, and denominational lines while reaching their communities, nations, and the world.
AFCM is committed to walking in love and unity while trusting God to do the impossible. We believe that when we work together, putting our faith in the Word of God and following the leading of His Spirit, nothing is impossible with God.
The Scriptures The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of the holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 Thess. 2:13) The Godhead Man, His Fall and Redemption The Salvation of Man God's will for our lives as believers is to become whole and successful in every area of life (Mark 16:17, Acts 2:4). The actual meaning of salvation is to be complete and lacking nothing; spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally. (2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Philippians 4:7-8, 1 Peter 2:24, 2 Corinthians 9:6-10) The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness (I John 3:23). Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works; however, our works will determine our rewards in eternity (Acts 16:3; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7; Romans 14:10-12; and 2 Cor. 5:10) Jew and Gentile alike must receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and be born again before experiencing physical death. The Jew does not get a second chance to get saved after physical death with Jesus appearing and preaching to them. Abraham's bosom was closed and no longer exists since Jesus Christ paid for mankind's redemption in full. Today, when a Jew or Gentile is born again and experiences physical death, they are immediately in the presence of the Lord in heaven. (John 3:1-18; Ephesians 1:7-10,2:14-22; Romans 9:6-8; Galatians 3:5-16). The Church Baptism in the Holy Spirit This wonderful experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth and is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4, 38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9; 19:2-6). Sanctification Ordinances The ordinance of baptism by immersion should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures by all who have repented and believed on Christ as Saviour and Lord. It is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. In so doing, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matt. 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4). We follow our Lord's command to faithfully remember Christ's cleansing blood and broken body with the elements of Holy Communion (1 Cor. 11:24, 25, 28). Human Sexuality We stand fast on the scriptures in Romans 1:25-27, I Corinthians 6:9-11, and I Timothy 1:9-10 and believe that homosexuality is a sin. We determine to show compassion to all, with however, no compromise. Accordingly, this organization, its churches, nor its members shall conduct any marriages between persons of the same sex and shall not condone, support, or facilitate any activities which conflict with this tenet of faith. Blessed Hope, Resurrection of the Just, and the Return of our Lord Hell and Eternal Retribution Dr. Julius “Jim” Kaseman is a graduate of the 1975 charter class of RHEMA Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
